NEXT COUNCIL MEETING:
There will be no meeting of the Mining Council in July, August, or September. In place of the meeting the following tours will replace the meetings. Our regular meetings will start in October 2010

SNMIC TOURS for 2010

Tues., July 13 at 3 pm. North Star Mining Museum, located at Allison Ranch and McCourtney Rds in Grass Valley. Dan Jasper, gold miner and owner of Waukashaw Drift Mine will be our Docent-in- House, with a "miners perspective". Followed by a tour of the North Star House, located 1 mile on Auburn Rd. off McCourtney. North Star House was the residence of A. D. Foote, Superintendent of the North Star Mine.

Tues., August 10 at 10 am. The #17 Dredge, has been renovated and is now working at Hallwood, Yuba Goldfields. We can board the Dredge or watch it work from shoreline. Meet at Teicherts Hallwood office. Manager Brandon Stauffer will set up a guide.

Wed., September 1 at 3 pm, Sierra Metal Fabricators, located at 529 Searls Ave. Nevada City. Owner Jason White will give tour of his Miners Foundry & Supply Co. that custom manufactures a wide range of mining equipment and we'll see a demonstration of the UHF Table Concentrator. Following the tour, Mike and LaVeta Nevius has invited the SNMIC members to a BBQ at their home, surrounded by Mikes great collection of mining antiquities with a working Stamp Mill

September 4 & 5 Foresthill Heritage Celebration, which features California State Lumberjack Championships.
The California State and the U. S. National Gold Panning Championships.
